Cllr Rob Curtis, Cabinet Member for Visible Services, said: “As
well as improving the quality of the roads and, of course, driving
conditions, there will be a reduction in road noise. I am sure the
work will be welcomed by both residents and visitors."
Operational Manager (Highway Maintenance) Keith Jones said the
additional Assembly funding, which was part of a £15m annual
allocation being shared by all Welsh councils to address the issue
of deteriorating roads, followed a national study. He added: "The
council will be carrying out the works during the coming months
using specialist external contractors.”
