Need some extra help to get back to work?

Need some extra help to get back to work?

Due to extra Government funding, unemployed people living in the Castleland, Court or Gibbonsdown wards in Barry are now able to use New Deal programmes without having to wait six months (if under 25) or 18 months (if over 25).

As part of the Vale of Glamorgan Council’s Lifelong Learning Employment Training Service, there are work placements in carpentry, bike maintenance, painting and decorating, retail, clerical, etc. Also available is continuing job search support including CVs, application forms, confidence building and access to resources and friendly staff.

To show what's on offer from LLETS and partners Dash Training and BTCV Cymru, an open morning (10am-12 noon) has been arranged for Thursday, 21 June, at the Holm View Centre, Skomer Road, Barry. Light refreshments will be available.

Individuals will be able to talk to experienced staff, see the variety of placements on offer and decide which opportunities are suitable. Taster sessions will be available in some workshops.

LLETS Training Manager Pippa Jones says: "Why not come along and see how we can help you get back to work? You’ve nothing to lose and lots to gain!"
