Penarth primary schools hit target in Netball League

Pupils from nine Vale of Glamorgan primary schools have been involved in a successful Dragon Sport Netball League.

The eight-week event was hosted by Ysgol Pen y Garth in their new sports hall, and also involved Evenlode, Albert, Victoria, Fairfield, Llandough, St Joseph's, Westbourne and Sully. All pupils were presented with achievement certificates

Dragon Sport organised the league as part of the promotion of the principles of inclusion and fair play and increasing sporting opportunities for children up to 11 years of age. Dragon Sports is Sports Council of Wales initiative which also focuses on athletics, cricket, football, golf, hockey, rugby and tennis.

Dragon Sport assistant co-ordinator in the Vale Peter Hardwick said: “Thanks go to everyone involved who helped make the league a real success. Results weren’t recorded or league tables published as players were focused on enjoying the game of netball.”
