Hot food back on menu at Oak Field Primary School
Thanks to the efforts of Vale Catering Services, hot food is
back on the menu at one of the Barry schools affected by July's
flooding.
The Vale of Glamorgan Council's catering arm provided a cold
sandwich service for children at Oak Field Primary following their
return to school after the summer holidays but the reintroduction
of hot meals has brought great delight.
Vale Catering is transporting hot food to Oak Field from one of
its larger kitchens, and Head of Catering Rita Hicks said:
"Catering and school staff have worked together to maintain a
quality service to the pupils until the school kitchen/dining hall
is reopened.
"The children expressed their delight at the return of hot meals
with cheers all round."
