Rhoose Point development moves a step closer to adoption

Work to surface the main road at Rhoose Point will commence on 10 December.

The works will provide a safer surface for cars and buses and are the culmination of many months of discussions between the Vale of Glamorgan Council and developers Cofton on progressing the adoption of the highway network.

Council leader Cllr Margaret Alexander said: “I am pleased that this administration has been able to take the highway adoption process forward. The residents of Rhoose Point deserve to receive all council services and, when the works are completed, we will be in a position to grit the surfaced area of the highway to provide greater protection to users in the winter period.”

Andrew Stanton, the group director and company secretary of Cofton, said: “I am extremely pleased to have made this progress with the Vale council. Cofton are committed to ensuring that all the drainage and highway infrastructure is suitable for adoption by the relevant authorities, and we consider this a major step towards our ultimate goal.”
