Survey will ask residents their opinion of life in the Vale
Residents in the Vale of Glamorgan are to be questioned about
life in the county, as part of a major survey commissioned by the
local council.
The Vale of Glamorgan Council has asked BMG Research to conduct
face-to-face interviews during October with 1,000 residents across
the county. Residents will be asked to comment on council services,
including what they think the council’s priorities for the future
should be. They will also be asked about their views on life in the
Vale.
Residents will be randomly selected and BMG will ensure they
represent the population of the area. Welsh speakers will be able
to opt for their interview to be conducted in Welsh.
The council undertakes a major survey of residents every other
year. In alternate years it conducts a smaller survey of its
Citizen Panel members. This means the council always has an idea of
where services might be beginning to disappoint and allows it to
quickly start to plan improvements.
Council leader, Margaret Alexander, said; “Regularly checking
the satisfaction levels of residents is an important part of the
council’s work. The results of the survey help us to plan for the
future. It is one of the ways we find out where we need to improve.
I hope residents invited to take part will take advantage of the
opportunity to influence the council’s services.”
