Two new fun football initiatives - a six-week coaching
centre (14 May-25 June) and half term courses (27-30 May) -
have been organised by the football arm of the Vale of Glamorgan
Council's sports development team.
Both initiatives will be based at at the Colcot Sports Centre in
Barry, with the coaching centre on the astro turf running every
Wednesday (except during half term) and encompassing two age groups
(eight to nine years, 4-5pm) and (10 to 11 years, 5-6pm). The cost
of the six-week course is £20.
The four-day (10am-2pm) half term fun programme will be
delivered on grass pitches, and there will be two age groups -
six to eight and nine to 11 - and the total cost is £36.
Vale football academy officer Nathan Nurton, who is organising
the courses, said: “We’re thrilled to bring back our extremely
popular fun days. I would advise those interested to book quickly
as numbers are limited and I know that places will fill fast."
The registration deadline is Friday, 9 May, for the coaching
centre - there’s a course limit of 15 players per class -
and Friday, 23 May, for the half term fun days, with a limit of 16
players per group.
