International Day Against Violence to Women Protest against violence towards women

To commemorate International Day Against Violence to Women the Mayor of the Vale of Glamorgan, Councillor Audrey Preston, will be hosting a fundraising evening for Women’s Aid.

Date:      Thursday 20th November

Time:       7.00 pm.

Location: Art Central (in the library), King Square, Barry

The evening will include presentations, a video, some musical items from Vale school children and - courtesy of the Mayor - light refreshments.

Violence against women is a world-wide phenomenon that destroys families and leaves generations of children damaged for life. In the Vale of Glamorgan it affects many families  and is the cause of much misery to families.  It respects neither wealth, profession nor status.

On Saturday  22nd November there will be an hour long vigil on King Square in Barry beginning at 11.00  a.m. to draw attention to and commemorate women world wide who suffer violence and sexual abuse.

All are welcome to stand with us.
