First steps to a football coaching future
As part of a
national drive to raise standards of football coaching for young
players, budding coaches have taken the first steps towards
mastering their craft at a 'Football Leaders' course at Sully
Sports Ground.
The course was organised by the Vale of Glamorgan football
development officer at the Welsh Football Trust, working in
partnership with the Vale of Glamorgan Council. 'Football Leaders'
is the entry level course that a football coach needs to undertake
in order to eventually gain their full coaching badge
qualifications.

coaching course at Sully Sports Ground.
Delivered by a Welsh Football Trust tutor, the course was aimed
at coaches who train children aged between five and 11, and
contained both practical and theoretical elements to provide
participants with the knowledge required to safely coach the game
at a basic level, with the emphasis on skill development.
All football clubs involved in leagues in Wales are now required
to have appropriately qualified coaches, and coaching courses such
as 'Football Leaders' are organised regularly for football coaches
and volunteers in the Vale of Glamorgan.
