Delivering to the Vale

Residents of the Vale are being given the opportunity to voice their opinions to the Vale of Glamorgan Council about its community strategy.

The council has prepared a community strategy to promote the economic, social and environmental well-being of the Vale and to contribute to the achievement of sustainable developments.

It aims to tackle issues which matter to its local communities such as developing a sustainable economy which will provide a wide range of jobs; promoting lifelong learning opportunities which will provide participation opportunities for all members of the community; reducing crime and disorder by targeting social and economic factors which often encourage anti-social behaviour; promoting health, social and care well-being and generally ensuring a sustainable future by encouraging environmental resources to be used wisely.

To make sure that the concerns of local communities are heard and adequately reflected there will be a series of public exhibitions held:

  • Monday 6th July- Bonvilston Reading Rooms, 10am to 7pm
  • Thursday 9th July- Cowbridge Community Centre, 10am to 7pm
  • Tuesday 14th July- Barry Library, 10am to 6pm
  • Wednesday 15th July- West House, Penarth, 10am to 7pm

For more information you can contact Don Webber, policy officer community planning, by emailing dwebber@valeofglamorgan.gov.uk or by visiting the website Homepage, where you can also view a draft of the community strategy.
