Flying the flag to support our Armed Forces

Specially-designed flags will be raised at the Vale Council’s Civic Offices on Monday, 22 June in celebration of the first Armed Forces Day.

Flying the flag

The Vale will join other councils, organisations and individuals across the country in raising the flags, which are based on the Union Jack, to honour of the men and women who make up the Armed Forces community - from currently serving troops to service families, veterans and recruits.

The flags will be flying on Monday to coincide with ceremonies across the country, and will remain flying until Armed Forces Day on Saturday, 27 June.

Leader of the Council, Cllr Gordon Kemp, said: "We are proud to be flying these special flags in honour of the Armed Forces. They are a clear way of offering our appreciation to the wonderful work they continue to do across the world."
