Council invite ideas for carpet bedding display - 13/12/06
Voluntary organisations are being invited to submit ideas which
can be incorporated into the annual carpet bedding display at The
Parade Gardens in Barry.
The display area, at the junction of Harbour Road and The
Parade, measures four metres square, and has, in the past, been
used to commemorate events such as the Barry Dock Lifeboat
Centenary and the award of a Blue Flag for Whitmore Bay, Barry
Island.
The Vale of Glamorgan Council is looking for a suitable subject
for the 2007 display which will interest residents and visitors
alike.
Operational Manager (Parks and Grounds Maintenance) Phil Beaman
said: "Any voluntary organisation with something to celebrate in
2007 is invited to express their interest before the end of
January.
"All we require is a simple logo that can be displayed with
plants, and an explanation of why the organisation thinks their
display should be planted."
