Community enterprise centre's free courses - 20/12/06
Individuals from Vale of Glamorgan-based community projects
have been rewarded for their successes on a wide range of training
courses.
Organisations from across the area were represented at the Barry
Community Enterprise Centre in Skomer Road, Barry, including Barry
Beavers Swimming Club, Penarth Youth Information Project, Vale
Housing Federation, Gwyn James Court (Penarth) Residents'
Association, Scope, Maes Glas, All Saints' Church (Barry) Ramblers,
Communities First and the Women's Institute.
The free courses in computer skills, first aid, food hygiene,
health and safety and community skills are aimed at benefiting both
individuals and their projects.
Presentiing certificates were Dave Prosser, Head of Lifelong
Learning at the Vale of Glamorgan Council, and Barbara Walters,
principal adult education officer.
A Community Enterprise spokesperson said: "Anyone volunteering
to help run organisations like a parent-teacher association or
residents' group can give us a call on (01446) 733034 to find out
how we can help them."
