Tony feels the fittest he has been in two decades! -

He may be approaching 70, but Tony Donoghue is feeling the best
he has been in twenty years thanks to his exercise regime at Barry
Leisure Centre!
Tony, from Barry, used to work as a refuse cart driver at the
Vale of Glamorgan Council until an accident meant he had to retire
early. Coupled with the breakdown of his marriage, Tony realised
that this was a make or break time for his future.
With an old exercise routine that consisted of watching
television or just walking to the bar to order another pint, one
day he woke up and decided to change his life by joining LifeStyle
Health & Fitness at Barry Leisure Centre. He made that decision
seven years ago, and hasn't looked back since!
Tony has achieved amazing results, losing a staggering eight
stone. His exercise also helps to control his asthma and alleviates
arthritic pain. Tony also realises that he has almost certainly
extended his life expectancy by many years. He has really caught
the bug of being active and is committed enough to visit Barry
Leisure Centre on a daily basis. He also completes crosswords to
ensure that he is mentally agile as well as physically active.
Speaking about his success, Tony said: “I enjoy training and
appreciate the excellent and varied range of Technogym equipment
that is so easy to use. For me LifeStyle has also become a social
club, as other members and staff are so friendly.”
Tony urges others to follow suit and recognises that it is hard
to gather the courage to walk through the door on the first day and
then to maintain momentum by visiting regularly. He also points out
that whilst training you can watch your favourite television
programme on the Technogym screens, so there really is no excuse of
not finding time to be active.
