The Vale of Glamorgan Adoption Agency is looking for people
from all walks of life who could consider adopting a child.
Adoption can be challenging and rewarding, and
adoptive parents need to be able to offer a lifetime commitment to
a child.
Adoption Team Manager at the Vale Council Jean
Letton said: "There are many myths about who can become adoptive
parents, and people assume that they have to be married, wealthy
and of a certain age.
"What we are looking for are people who can
match the needs of children wanting adoption, people, for example,
who could take the younger or older child or maybe a child with a
disability or, perhaps, could keep brothers and sisters together by
adopting a sibling group.
"We welcome applications from everyone
irrespective of relationship status, age, sexuality, ethnic
background or wealth."
