Cowbridge centre expands fitness programme - 11/01/07
A Vale of Glamorgan leisure centre has added two exciting
classes to its varied fitness events programme.
The fitness portfolio at the Cowbridge centre already includes
"Circuit Training," "Young at Heart" and "Boxfit" and the new
classes are "Sivananda Yoga" and "Salsa Aerobics."
Presented by Vicki Gregory, "Salsa Aerobics" will run every
Thursday (10.30–11.30am) and participants, while having plenty of
fun, can expect Latin and Salsa style moves and music to increase
overall general fitness and health.
Salsa meaning ‘sauce’ and, including ingredients such as jazz,
mambo, cha cha and rumba, has a distinctive rhythm which makes
dance steps unique and interesting and is, therefore, sometimes
known as Latin Dance. Vicki's classes are designed to be motivating
and inspiring and will, hopefully, tempt both male and females of
all ages and abilities.
"Sivananda Yoga" presented by Kathryn Davies on Wednesdays
(6.30-7.30pm and 7.45-8.45pm) is so called after the teacher, Swami
Sivananda. The class has been designed to incorporate breathing,
relaxation and mediation techniques for total health and
well-being. All abilities, aged 16 and over, are welcome.
Cabinet Member for Tourism and Leisure Cllr Gwyn John said:
“It’s wonderful to see that more classes have been introduced. This
will, hopefully, offer more choice and may tempt people to try
something new this year at Cowbridge Leisure Centre.”
