2007 Glamorgan Heritage Coast tourism brochure now available - 26/01/07

The multiplicity of attractions in the Vale of Glamorgan and Bridgend areas are once again highlighted in a joint tourism brochure.

The free 2007 Glamorgan Heritage Coast and Countryside publication is now available and is being sent on request to prospective national and international visitors and residents.

The tourism departments in the Vale and Bridgend County Borough Councils have once again teamed up to produce an informative and stylish 44-page brochure which showcases the region's attractions and promotes a huge variety of quality recreational ideas.

Readers are invited to 'share the magic' and learn more about the unique area, including the towns of Barry, Bridgend, Cowbridge, Llantwit Major, Penarth and Porthcawl, the heritage coast, hills and countryside.

The brochure places the spotlight on specific topics as feeling exhilarated and appreciating the finer things in life, and lists just some events that are ‘a must’ in the year ahead. Visitors can choose to read about an impressive range of recreational and sports activities including paintballing, leisure centres, karting, spas and golf.

Also listed are dates of continental markets, festivals and fairs, and unusual events such as Christmas Day morning swims!

There are 15 pages highlighting the wide range of holiday accommodation available across the area.

Vale Tourism Marketing Manager Claire Evans has reported "excellent early feedback," and said: "The brochure complements our range of literature, ‘Days Out, Fascinating Towns, Country Parks and Legendary Villages.’ The team provides a comprehensive public service offering inspiring ideas, and we are keen to highlight that the area boasts all year round opportunities.”

Cabinet Member for Leisure and Tourism Cllr Gwyn John said: "We are expecting to send out around 80,000 brochures but this figure does not include those downloaded from our website.

"The beautiful brochure is just one of the ways that we promote the jewels of the heritage coast and countryside, and we work with partners such as Visit Wales to ensure maximum exposure and interest."

The brochure is available at exhibitions, websites, tourist information centres, many motorway service stations, ports, libraries and Council offices.
