Problems with A48 junction traffic lights - 14/11/06
Drivers are being warned to expect some inconvenience this week
while permanent traffic lights at the junction of the A48 and
Dyffryn Lane at St Nicholas are out of action.
Damage to the traffic signal sensor loops has been caused by
contractors working on water mains in the area, and they have now
installed temporary signals whilst repairs are carried out.
Vale of Glamorgan Council Operational Manager (Highways) Keith
Jones apologised for any delays to travellers, which was beyond the
control of the authority, adding: "Specialised repairs are required
to enable the permanent signals to operate at peak efficiency, and
these repairs will be carried out as quickly as possible."
