Further expansion of award-winning scheme - 13/11/06

Gates are about to be installed on the next phase of the highly successful Alleygates scheme in Barry.

A crime reduction project involving ‘"sealing off" numerous back lanes across the town, Alleygates is a partnership project involving the Vale of Glamorgan Council and South Wales Police, together with the South Wales Fire and Rescue Service. Security gates are installed in rear lanes in order to prevent burglaries, vandalism and other anti-social activities.
