Closure of road tunnel - 26/10/06
Motorists are being advised that the tunnel linking Weston
Square and Cardiff Road in Barry will be closed to traffic for
three days from from 6am on Saturday (November 4) to 6am (at the
latest) on Monday (November 6).
The closure is necessary for further preparatory work to be
undertaken in relation to a project by Dwr Cymru Welsh Water to
construct a new relief sewer to alleviate regular flooding in the
area. The work is being undertaken by the utility company's
contractors, AMEC.
AMEC and the Council apologise for any inconvenience which may
be caused during the temporary closure period.
The signposted diversion route will be along Ffordd-y-Mileniwm,
Gladstone Bridge and Gladstone Road.
Pedestrian access will be maintained.
