The Vale of Glamorgan Council's Health Through Warmth
initiative has been working alongside a Barry GP surgery during its
flu vaccination campaign.
Individuals having flu injections at the Court Road Surgery were
offered energy efficiency information, advice on grants available
through the HTW scheme and two free low energy light bulbs.
More than 1,000 bulbs were handed out, and HTW co-ordinator
Hannah Jones said: "The campaign has been a huge success and many
patients are now aware of the grants available and will be having a
warmer winter by insulating their homes.
"We are sometimes surprised at the numbers of people unaware of
the grants now available through Health Through Warmth and who are
missing out on the massive benefits of home insulation and energy
efficiency.”
