Public invited to air views on Action Plan - 16/10/06
Members of the public have an opportunity to attend a meeting
which is to consider an action plan prepared by the Director of
Community Services to address the current budget overspends within
the Vale of Glamorgan Council’s Social Services Directorate.
The meeting of the Scrutiny Committee (Community Wellbeing and
Safety) will be held at the Memorial Hall, Barry, at 6pm on Monday,
October 23, and will also be attended by representatives of local
health and voluntary sector organisations and other stakeholder
groups.
Encouraging members of the public to attend and offer their
views, Committee Chairman Cllr Janice Birch said: "One of the most
important roles of Scrutiny is to listen to the views of the
public, the community and organisations and to take account of
their views in any subsequent deliberations and, where approriate,
to pass those views on.
"The action plan has been referred by the Cabinet to the
Scrutiny Committee for consideration as it impacts on individuals
who are the most vulnerable and groups who represent vulnerable
members of our community. We are anxious to hear from as many
people as possible before formulating our response to the
Cabinet."
