Residential college commended by Mayor - 04/10/06
Vale of Glamorgan Mayor, Cllr Nic Hodges has praised the
'excellent service' provided by Beechwood College in Sully - Wales'
only purpose-built residential college for young people with
Autistic Spectrum Disorder or Asperger's Syndrome.
The college staff prepare their 16 to 25-year-old students for
the future by teaching and developing social, independence and
academic skills. Set in beautiful grounds, Beechwood College offers
all the facilities and connections to the local community that
young people could wish for.
Following a tour of the college, Cllr Hodges said: "We are very
lucky to have such an innovative establishment here in the Vale of
Glamorgan. I was thoroughly impressed with their first class
facilities and with the staff, who provide an excellent
service."
Richard Jones, Beechwood College's Commercial Director, said:
"We were delighted to welcome the mayor to Beechwood College where
he was able to see for himself the unique caring and stimulating
environment we offer our students and the plans we have to expand
the college. We believe we have an exciting future ahead and are
keen to work with the Vale of Glamorgan Council to turn our plans
into reality."
