Cosmeston helps celebrate European Heritage Days - 11/09/06

In support of the annual European Heritage Days initiative, Cosmeston Medieval Village hosts a special event this Saturday and Sunday (September 15-16) between 11am and 5pm.

During the two days, there will be free entry to the wonderfully reconstructed 14th Century village for children, students and senior citizens, while adults will be charged the concessionary rate of just £2.

Visitors can take a guided tour with costumed villagers, who will tell them all about life in medieval Wales, or can wander on their own and investigate all the nooks and crannies of a medieval village.

Among the "hosts" will be Gruffydd, the village baker, Simeon (the surgeon), Lady Maud and her herbal concoctions, and Caradog, the Welsh rascal.

Village manager Nick Coles said: "The village is a great day out for all the family, who will hear all about the good, bad and downright nasty as they take a step back to the 14th Century."

The medieval village at Cosmeston is surrounded by hundreds of acres of beautiful Welsh countryside with wonderful walks, a lakeside cafe, shop and plenty of free car parking.
