Waterfront Festival drawings donated to Vale Council -
11/09/06
A pair of commemorative drawings of the 'Prince William' Tall
Ship have been donated to the Vale of Glamorgan Council by local
artist Richard O'Connell.
The pencil crayon drawings, which will be displayed in the Civic
Offices in Barry, were produced while the 'Prince William' was
berthed at Barry Docks in September 2005 for the Barry Waterfront
(Tall Ship) Festival.
Mr O'Connell is a member of the Vale of Glamorgan Artists Group
(VOGA), who attend the festival every year, and have actively
promoted art in the local area for over 10 years.
Mr O'Connell said: "As a participant in the Waterfront Festival,
I am aware that it is a very popular event that is developing each
year. I am, therefore, delighted to donate both drawings as a
commemorative pair to the Vale Council."
