The Vale of Glamorgan is Wales' most southern Unitary Authority.
It lies immediately west of Cardiff between the M4 and the Severn
Estuary. It covers more than 33000 hectares (131 square miles) with
53 kilometres of coastline, of which 19 kilometres is
Heritage Coast.
Its towns are
Barry,
Penarth,
Llantwit Major, Dinas Powys and
Cowbridge. Barry, the largest town with a population of
approximately 48,000, is the Vale's administrative centre, a

Business Rates - The non-domestic rates
/ business rates collected by billing authorities are paid into a
central pool and redistributed to county councils and
police authorities. Your council and police authority use their
shares of redistributed rate income, together with income from
their council tax payers, revenue support grant provided by WAG and
certain other sums, to pay for the services they provide.
