Private Hire Operators
Anyone who wishes to run a business operating Private Hire
vehicles must first apply for, and be granted, a Private Hire
Operator's licence.
Before applying for a licence you should contact the Council's
Planning Department to check whether you will need to obtain
planning permission for the business.
You will also need to have a Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) check
before a licence can be granted. The check will need to be carried
out on a 3-yearly basis.
