Education Maintenance Allowance (EMA)
The Education Maintenance Allowance provides financial support
for 16-19 year olds who are continuing with their education at
schools or further education institutions. It is means tested
and to be eligible you will need to be:-
- Aged 16 between 1 September 2008 – 31 August 2009
- Living in the UK
- In full time study
- Studying eligible course
Money = £10/£20/£30 weekly depending on circumstances.
Paid fortnightly into bank.
You will qualify if:
- you live with parents, annual income of total household must be
less than £31,581
- you live on your own, annual income must be less than
£31,581
- you’re under the care of social services, or responsible for
child, is likely to receive £30 per week
