Our Vision

Playing, Learning, Living

Bute Cottage seeks to offer a stimulating, safe, warm and supportive learning environment, that meets and celebrates the diverse needs of the whole school

community, enabling ALL children to begin to acquire lifelong skills and positive attitudes.

Aims

We aim to provide a unique preschool experience in a stimulating environment where:

1.       children are secure and happy

2.       children play and learn with enjoyment

3.       children are helped to gain independence and self-control

4.       parents and carers are welcomed and respected

5.       staff share care and concern for each child, their families and for each other

6.       the contribution of the diverse community is valued and celebrated

7.       sustainable development and global citizenship are integral

How we communicate these values and vision

Communication between staff, Governors, the LEA and outside professionals occurs though regular meetings both formally and informally.

Newsletters, entrance area posters and notices, termly reviews, reports and email are used to formally communicate with parents, as well as the effective informal daily contact.

Parents can also communicate their needs to staff on this daily basis, or, if they prefer, formally via email, letter, as part of the termly review comment section or in response to questionnaires.

Children receive daily feedback and are also given the opportunity to be included in the decision-making process. We value the views of our children.

The Home-School Agreement outlines the "promise” that each party signing the contract is expected to keep.

We share our successes and constantly strive to improve on our achievements.
