Palmerston Community Learning Centre is based in an old Victorian Primary school. The building has retained much of it’s character and has many original features including the original wooden floors. The classrooms are light and spacious . A new Art Studio has been added in recent years.

The centre is located off Cardiff Road opposite Dow Corning and near to the Palmerston Road traffic lights that lead to Waitrose.

There is ample car parking and the centre is adjacent to bus stops and a ten minute walk from Cadoxton Station. The centre boasts new improved disabled access including ramps and stairlift.

The Crèche

A free Crèche is available at Palmerston centre for parents and carers attending daytime classes at the centre

Children aged 6months to 5 years are cared for in the crèche by qualified and experienced staff. The crèche meets the required standards and is inspected by CSIW Care standards Inspectorate Wales.

Children learn too, the crèche is an ideal opportunity to prepare children for nursery or playgroup and they benefit from learning and developing skills through a variety of play activities; art and craft, construction toys and games, imaginative and physical play and reading.

Penarth Community Learning Centre is based at St Cyres School in Penarth which is in a cul-de-sac (St Cyres Close) just off Redlands Road.

Disabled Access: At the main Centre there is a ramp to the front door, and access to disabled toilet facilities on the ground floor.  Classes can be relocated to the ground floor to allow wheelchair access.

The Vale Open Learning Centre is located in bright and airy ground floor premises close to Barry town centre.  We pride ourselves on a friendly and informal atmosphere and we are here for anyone who wants to improve their everyday language, literacy, maths or computer skills.

We hold classes on Monday to Friday between 10.00am and 3.00pm and on Monday and Wednesday evenings.

At some sessions there is a free crèche to support you while you are learning.  All our crèche staff are fully qualified and hold a current CRB check.
