In the past three years BBC Breathing Places
has brought together a fantastic array of inspirational
broadcasting, mass audiences and partner events to make a positive
difference to UK wildlife and people. In this time over 10 million
people have engaged with the campaign. Find out more and

In the Vale of Glamorgan there are 3 Nursery
Schools, 2 Infant Schools, 2 Junior Schools, 42 Primary
Schools and 8 Secondary Schools and 3 Special Schools.
These include 5 Welsh medium primary schools and 1 Welsh medium
secondary school. Nursery provision is also available
at our 34 units attached to infant and primary schools. There
are also 15 Special Educational Needs units attached to
mainstream schools.
Denominational education is provided at 13 primary age schools
comprising of 10 Church in Wales primary schools, 1 Roman Catholic
primary school, 1 Roman Catholic infant school and 1
Roman Catholic junior school. Catholic secondary provision is
available at St Richard Gwyn Roman Catholic High School. There is
no Church in Wales Secondary School in the Vale but parents wishing
for this type of education are able to access the Bishop of
Llandaff Church in Wales secondary school under arrangements agreed
by Cardiff and the Vale authority.
Schools are classified as Community, Foundation, Voluntary
Controlled and Voluntary Aided. The Council is responsible for
coordinating the admission arrangements for Community and Voluntary
Controlled Schools, whilst the governing bodies are responsible for
the Foundation and Voluntary Aided sector.
