This new website enables:

  • Students to apply online;
  • Down load paper application forms and notes
  • Allows students and parents to track the progress of their application;
  • Enables students and parents to calculate the amount of Student Support that may be available;
  • The website also gives valuable advice on all aspects of Student Support.

Other Grants available in Wales

Assembly Learner Grant

In Wales, students may also be able to benefit from the Assembly Learner Grant scheme. The Assembly Learner Grant is a scheme run by the Welsh Assembly and administered by the LEA. For 2006/07, the income threshold is £16435.00. The amount of Assembly Learner Grant received is then dependent on the level of parental income, with the maximum grant received being £1,500.00 per year. Unlike the Student Loan, the Assembly Learner Grant is not repayable if the student is in attendance for the full year. Details of the Assembly Learner Grant scheme can also be found on the Student Finance Wales website above.
