Welcome to the Vale of Glamorgan Libraries

 

Vale library members have access to over 200,000 books, 6,000 talking books, 7,000 music CDs, 9,000 DVDs as well as free book reservations for any book in Wales, free internet access and a host of other fantastic services.

Library news and events

  • Adult Learners' Week is the UK's largest festival and celebration of adult learning. Take a look at the Adult Learners' Week pages to find out what we have on offer during the week, 18-25 May 2013, and what's happening near you.
  • Open University In Wales will be holding drop-in advice sessions in Penarth, Barry and Cowbridge libraries on 10 June, 11 June and 6 July respectively.
  • Amser Stori sessions for preschool children and Welsh learners take place on Fridays in Barry Library from 10am-10.45am.
  • The opening hours of Wenvoe Library have changed.  

  • If you haven’t read for years, why not join our Six Book Challenge to get you back into the reading game?

  • Be part of the Barry Arts Festival: join the Yarn Bombing Sessions in Barry Library, every Wednesday from 10am-12pm.

Adult Learners' Week

We aim to inspire people and encourage a sense of place through libraries with books, information, learning, online access, music, film and services for every resident in spaces that bring local communities together.
