New Online Resources for Adult Learners
This year the Vale of Glamorgan Libraries is offering more
online resources to support adult learners in the Vale. It has
recently purchased a number of online books aimed at students of FE
level and above. The full text of these books can be searched and
viewed online. These books are called e-books as they are in
electronic format. They contain the same information as printed
copies of the books but are far easier to search to find
information for assignments and study. Two of these databases,
Blackwell Reference Online and Oxford
Scholarship Online, can be viewed on our library PCs.
Together they offer a range of academic books
covering humanities and the social sciences; in particular they
cover business, economics, psychology and sociology. The Gale Virtual Reference Library has a
particularly good collection of health related resources and can be
viewed by library members from any internet PC. To access the Gale
Virtual Reference Library at home you will need to type in you
library card number.
