Sully Library

Accessibility

There is a disabled parking space directly outside the library and an accessible toilet inside. A hearing loop is installed at the library desk.

What we have to offer

The library has a good range of books for adults, a small children's area and four PCs connected to the internet.

Sale of Withdrawn Library Books

Sully Library has a table selling off old library stock. It's a good place to pick up a paperback for your holiday or some bedtime stories for your children - and lots more besides.

Sully Readers' Circle

Here are 3 good reasons for joining a reading group:

  • An opportunity to meet others
  • A chance to share, to talk about books and reading
  • A prospect of trying authors and books you may otherwise overlook

The Sully Readers' Circle meets monthly on a Tuesday lunchtime.

  • There are currently plenty of spaces for new members and we will consider changing the day and time to suit the majority.

If you are interested in joining please contact Andrea Griffiths on Barry 725381 for further details.

24 January meeting

No review this month!

Four members turned up and discussed the choice of books for the next six months, using the Reading Groups List provided and also reserving books not on the list where there are sufficient books in the system. A few pages from the start of this month's read were read aloud to give a flavour of the book and a few more recommendations were made for additional reading.

Recommendation!

Call the Midwife by Jennifer Worth. This is the autobiography of a young midwife starting work in the East End of London in the 1950s. It has recently been adapted for a television series starring Jessica Raine, Miranda Hart and Jenny Agutter.

This month's choice:

Back when we were Grownups by Anne Tyler

Previous books read:

The Penelopiad by Margaret Atwood

The Thirteenth Tale by Diane Setterfield

The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo by Stieg Larsson

The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time by Mark Haddon

Aberystwyth Mon Amour by Malcolm Pryce

A Short History of Tractors in Ukrainian by Marina Lewycka

The Poisonwood Bible by Barbara Kingsolver

The Outcast by Sadie Jones
