Holton Road Commercial Renewal Area
Significant works have already been undertaken to assist with the regeneration of Holton Road
In order to continue the momentum of regeneration activity, the Vale of Glamorgan Council in partnership with the Welsh Assembly Government (WAG) has launched a Commercial Renewal Area in Holton Road.
This initiative is part of the regeneration plans for Holton Road, and aims to improve the environmental quality and encourage investment into the area.
What are Commercial Renewal Areas?
Commercial Renewal Areas are designated areas in which financial assistance is targeted to encourage high standard external building improvements through offering grant assistance. An indicative boundary of the area is illustrated on this map.
Grant assistance for eligible works are offered on a discretionary basis up to a maximum of 50% grant.
Who can apply?
Applications that meet the necessary grants criteria can be accepted from freeholders or leaseholders with leasehold interests of ten years or more, from within the area.
What work is eligible?
Improvement works to the exterior facade of the commercial properties within the indicative area outlined on the map are eligible for assistance.
Examples of the type of work supported include:
- Windows, doors and shop front replacement
- External brickwork and stonework repairs
- high quality replacement roller shutters
Any proposed works will have to be in line with the design guidelines issued by the Council and make a significant contribution to the enhancement of the streetscape.
