Sports and Play

We aim to increase the number of people taking part in sports and play opportunities to increase their health and wellbeing.

 

Working with a range of partners we create new and further develop existing activities for people of all ages in the Vale of Glamorgan.

 

Dinosaur-PlayPlay: 4-11 years 

Creating indoor and outdoor play opportunities for children aged 4-11 years in the Vale.

 

 

 

 

Applications are open for the Vale of Glamorgan Council and Legacy Leisure Sports Academy Scheme.

The scheme offers those with elite sporting promise the opportunity to use appropriate facilities free of charge. There are 10 places on the scheme and applicants must fill certain criteria:

  • Must be a Vale of Glamorgan resident

  • Participate in a sport recognised by Sport Wales and affiliated to a recognised governing body

  • Have reached Welsh or national squad status, represented their country in the previous year and be in contention to receive further international honours in the following 12 months

School Sports Survey Results 2018

The Sport Wales School Sport Survey took place during the summer term of 2018. This report presents the results for Vale of Glamorgan, providing evidence on pupils’ well-being in relation to physical education (PE), extracurricular sport and community activity, focusing on the four well-being outcomes indicated in Estyn’s Inspection Framework for Schools in Wales.
