Street Lighting

Manage and maintain street lights and illuminated items of road furniture, including signs, bollards, zebra and school crossings flashing units

We identify faults and arrange for repairs to be rectified on time by replacing obsolete, damaged or inefficient lights. There are a number of different types of street lighting across the Vale of Glamorgan.

Part-Night Lighting

70% of the Council's existing non-LED lighting will turned off from around midnight to 6.00am to make essential savings on energy consumption and carbon emissions.

It is anticipated that part-night lighting will save some £371,862.71 in energy costs and 1,338 tonnes of CO2 emissions per annum.

LED Street Lighting

We have introduced a number of LED lamps across the Vale of Glamorgan.

LED lights have a much longer lifespan and require less maintenance than the traditional sodium lamps, they are highly energy efficient, reduce carbon emissions and cost less than a quarter of conventional lighting in energy consumption.
