Housing Land Supply- Joint Housing Land Availability Studies
Local Planning Authorities (LPAs) in Wales are required to ensure that sufficient land is available, or will become available, to maintain a five-year supply of land for housing.
To demonstrate this a joint housing land availability study (JHLAS) is prepared each year.
The study is undertaken by the LPA in conjunction with house-builders' representatives, infrastructure providers and other bodies such as local housing associations.
Welsh Government Guidance on the preparation of the studies is set out in Technical Advice Note 1, Joint Housing Land Availability Studies (TAN 1).
