The new community will teach through the medium of Welsh from the first year of nursery at 3, moving to the secondary school at year 7 through to post GCSE learning opportunities up to the age of 19.
The school is growing year on year and will have a full profile of primary school year groups by September 2017. An investment of £2.7 m has been made in building a modern and innovative primary school that provides state of the art facilities and tailor made outside space enabling the school to enhance the children's experience of an outdoor learning environment .
The new school is the first in the Vale of Glamorgan to be built using an optimised design model and was built in partnership with ISG construction. The school meets BREEAM Excellent standards.
The new school benefits from an innovative classroom layout, supported by hi-tech learning equipment. The centre of the school, called the ‘Heart Space’ is a light and airy space which provides additional learning facilities and meeting spaces.
