I, Debbie Marles, Police Area Returning Officer appointed for the Election of the Police and Crime Commissioner for the South Wales Police Area on 6 May 2021 hereby certify that the total number of first preference votes given for each candidate are as follows: 


The total number of ballot papers verified is: 447,227 

The turnout in this Police Area at this election is: 45.46% 

 

The total number of ballot papers rejected at the first count was: 15,126

As no candidate received more than 50% of the first preference votes I have directed Local Returning Officers to now count the second preference votes for the candidates whom are not eliminated from the contest. 


The remaining candidates are: Steve Gallagher, Conservative Candidate More Police, Safer Streets / Alun Edward Michael, Labour and Co-operative Party / Llafur a’r Blaid Gydweithredol.
