Ward: St Athan


Councillor Thomas was born in St. Athan and educated at St. Athan Primary school and Kings School Cardiff. After leaving school he attended Usk College of Agriculture before returning to the family farm at Flemingston.


He was elected to the Vale of Glamorgan Council to represent the St. Athan Ward in 1999.


Councillor Thomas was Vice Chairman of the Environmental Health Committee for one year and then Chairman of the Scrutiny Committee for Safe and Healthy Communities from 2000-2001.


He was also Chairman of the Licensing Committee, Chairman of the Community Safety Partnership.
