SENIOR MANAGEMENT APPOINTMENT COMMITTEE
Minutes of a meeting held on 28th April, 2015.
Present: Councillor N. Moore (Chairman); Councillor S.C. Egan (Vice-Chairman); Councillors L. Burnett, C.P. Franks, G. John and J.W. Thomas.
Also present: Councillor R.A. Penrose (Observer) and Ms. V. Woods (Technical Assistant, Solace Enterprises).

No declarations of interest were received.
1155 RECRUITMENT AND SELECTION ARRANGEMENTS FOR THE HEAD OF FINANCE / SECTION 151 OFFICER (MD) -
The Committee had previously met on 21st April, 2015 to consider all applications received for the above post and following consideration at this meeting, it was agreed that the six candidates would be invited for preliminary assessment at the assessment centre on 27th April 2015. It had also been agreed at that time that the assessment centre would be facilitated by Solace Enterprises and would provide a means of assessing the professional competence and related behaviours of the long-listed candidates through the use of a suite of exercises. This process would be supplemented by additional on-line psychometric and ability testing and a technical interview undertaken by the Managing Director.
The external Technical Advisor was in attendance to assist Members in the recruitment and selection process and, in particular, to provide feedback in respect of the above process. This was to assist Members to determine the final short-list of candidates for interview by the Committee on 12th May 2015 and at that meeting, to determine if a suitable candidate could be identified for the appointment to the above position.
The Managing Director also provided feedback in respect of the professional interviews also undertaken on 27th April 2015.
RESOLVED – T H A T Candidates A, H and L be short-listed for final interview by the Committee on Tuesday, 12th May 2015.

To ensure the appointment proceeded in accordance with the requirements of the Council’s Constitution.
