It is vital that we consult with our local residents, businesses and visitors to help us deliver the best possible services and provide value for money.

 

There are a great number of factors that influence decisions in local government and we want to ensure that the views of our residents are one of these. Although it would not be practical to consult our residents about every single thing we do, when it comes to the bigger picture, we will ask for input to help us make those decisions that affect us all.

The Council is undertaking a formal six week consultation on the draft SPG from Monday 19 August until Tuesday 01 October 2019.

New Housing Development - Requirements for School Places

There are a number of new housing developments in the Vale. We are asking residents who are moving to new housing developments to let us know their requirements for school places. Please read the letter below and respond to the online survey.

 

 

Previous Consultations

Penarth/Cardiff Barrage Sustainable Transport Corridor Study

This consultation closed on 4 August 2019. Responses to the consultation will now be considered and a report on the findings will be presented to the Council's Cabinet in due course. 

 

Cogan Skatepark

The final designs for Cogan Skatepark have been published. HAGs and Maverick Skateparks will be on site for 8 weeks in the autumn with work expected to be completed before the end of the year.

Fare Paying School Transport

Thank you for taking the time to respond to this consultation. Officers are currently reviewing the feedback received, however proposals will not be finalised prior to the start of the 2019-20 academic year therefore there will be no changes to services for this academic year.

 

Dinas Powys Open Spaces 

The Vale of Glamorgan Council has received Section 106 monies from local developments to provide and improve public open spaces and community facilities in Dinas Powys.  This consultation closed on Monday 13 May. A report on the results of the consultation will be considered before the tender process to appoint contractors begins. 

 

21st Century Schools 

Latest on proposals to expand Ysgol Sant BarucSt David's Church in Wales Primary School and St Nicholas Church in Wales Primary School as part of the 21st Century Schools Band B Programme.

 

Belle Vue Pavilion

Capturing residents' views on the potential future uses of Belle Vue Pavilion. A report on the results of the consultation will be considered by local members before a decision is taken on how to proceed. 

 

Public Toilets 

The Council has a requirement to prepare a toilet strategy for the Vale of Glamorgan. Following a public consultation on a range of issues this strategy will now be drafted.

Public consultation on the contents of the draft parking strategy for the Vale of Glamorgan. This consultation ran from 06 August until 28 September 2018. 

 

Public Spaces Protection Order - Dog Controls

Consultation on a proposed public spaces protection order to replace existing byelaws in relation to dog controls. This consultation ran from 27 June until 22 August 2018.
