Information and guidance for waste and recycling collections this Christmas and New Year period

 

  • Libraries
    All Vale of Glamorgan libraries will be closed from Thursday 24 December 2020 to Monday 04 January 2021. Click and Collect will not be available during this time. 

 

Changes to Recycling and Waste Collection Days 

There are some changes to recycling and waste collections this Christmas and New Year period:

Christmas Tree Recycling

Real Christmas trees can be placed out for recycling on your black bag collection day during the period Monday 11 - Friday 22 January 2021

 

Simply place your tree out for collection alongside your recycling before 7.00am. 

  • Only real trees are able to be collected for recycling

  • All decorations and soil will need to be removed

  • If longer than 6 foot, please cut down to size

  • Trees need to be placed out for collection before 7.00am

Please note: There will be no additional service outside of the two weeks. If you miss your collection day, please 'Ring and Request' a Garden Waste collection or book an appointment and take to your local recycling centre

 

Temporary lift on Black Bag Restrictions 

We recognise that we all produce a lot more waste and recycling this time of year, so, from Sunday 27 December 2020 - Friday 15 January 2021 the restriction to 2 black bags per household will not apply.

Recycling Centres

Household Waste Recycling Centres in Atlantic Trading Estate and Llandow Industrial Estate will be closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day.

 

Please note: All visitors to recycling centres must wear a face covering when outside their vehicles.
