A number of public and professional events have been organised in and around the Vale for November's National Safeguarding Week (NSGW), as this year's awareness-raising programme focuses on the theme of exploitation.


Safeguarding, and the protection of children and vulnerable adults, is everybody’s responsibility across the Council.

Presentation by: Claire Loizos, Shared Regulatory Services, Steve Bartley Older People’s Commissioner for Wales Office and Daniel Michel South Wales Police.


  • Safeguarding Older People from Financial Abuse (including scams and doorstep crime).
  • To provide a general overview of the work of the Older People’s Commissioner Office.
  • Understanding Mental Capacity and the advantages of having a Lasting Power of Attorney.
