The course is suitable for all levels of ability with gradual and complete instructions every step of the way for each project. The course will cover practices in drawing and painting with watercolour Each project will begin with a drawing and exploring techniques session to prepare you for creating the artwork. Projects may run for 1-2 weeks.
You will be provided step-by-step demonstrations, to be followed by you in stages. There will be time to create and reflect on your progress, with the tutor and each other. A short break will take place halfway through for 10mins, which will give you time to chat with each other and grab a cupper. Main form of communication and sharing of learning resources, such as visual references, materials list etc. will be sent via email.
Please contact the tutor at email@example.com to let them know you have joined the group. Learning resources can be downloaded to your smart phone/ tablet, or printed and bought along to sessions. If this is not possible, please contact the tutor and she will print handouts for a small fee. The tutor is friendly, informative, and encouraging. Classes are joyful whilst learning the wonders of the control chaos that is watercolour.
Hairdryer or heat tool / Sketch pad / Watercolour pad 300 gsm / 2x HB pencils, pencil sharpener and putty rubber / At least 5 brushes small, medium, and large, round and flat for watercolours including a Fan and Rigger brush. / 2 jars, kitchen towel and masking tape. / Watercolours pans or tubes i.e: Reeves or Winsor & Newton / Waterproof set of Pen and Ink. / Wax / White Gouache / Masking Fluid / Salt Recommended colours list: Cadmium Red, Alizarine Crimson, Cadmium Yellow, Lemon Yellow, Sap Green, Viridian Green, Burnt Sienna, French Ultramarine, Cobalt Blue, Cerulean Blue, Permanent Rose, Opera pink, Violet….the list is extensive.
