Acrylics on the Pier

A course for discovering the versatile joy of painting with Acrylics. Suitable for all levels of ability with gradual and complete instructions every step of the way for each project. Each project will begin with a drawing and exploring techniques session to prepare you for creating the artwork. Projects may run for 1 -2 weeks. You will be provided step-by-step demonstrations, to be followed by you in stages. There will be time to create and reflect on your progress, with the tutor and each other. A short break will take place halfway through for 10mins, which will give you time to chat with each other and grab a cupper. Main form of communication and sharing of learning resources, such as visual references, materials list etc.. will be sent via email. Please contact the tutor at info@peneloperosecowley.com to let them know you have joined the group. Learning resources can be downloaded to your smart phone/ tablet, or printed and bought along to sessions. If this is not possible, please contact the tutor and she will print handouts for a small fee. The tutor is friendly, informative, and encouraging. Classes are joyful whilst learning the extraordinary flexibility of Acrylic painting.
Equipment List:
Hair dryer or heat tool / Sketch pad / 2x HB pencils, pencil sharpener, charcoal, and putty rubber / At least 5 brushes small, medium, and large, round and flat for acrylics / Set of Palette Knives / 2 jars, kitchen towel and masking tape / Drawing Board / An easel (optional) / Flat Painting Palettes / Acrylics Paints a selection Tubes at least 75ml and above. / Canvas Pad for Acrylic / Small Canvases or Canvas Panels. Recommended colours list: Basic Colours- Cadmium Red, Alizarin Crimson, Cadmium Yellow, Lemon Yellow, Cobalt Blue, French Ultramarine. Ivory Black, Titanium White. Additional Colours – Yellow Ochre, Prussian Blue/Phthalo Blue, Viridian Green, Light Green, Violet, Permanent Rose, Metallic Gold….the list is extensive.
