Accounts Payable BACS Payment Runs – Christmas Period

We are currently receiving a high number of queries about payment runs over the Christmas period.

To help teams plan ahead, the table below outlines the Accounts Payable BACS payment run timetable, including expected payment dates, changes to the usual schedule, and file submission deadlines. Please note that there will be no payment runs on several dates due to the Christmas and New Year bank holidays.

Submitting files in advance, where possible, will help ensure payments are processed on time.

December payment runs

  • Tuesday 16 December
    BACS run – payments will hit accounts Thursday 18 December

  • Wednesday 17 December
    BACS run – payments will hit accounts Friday 19 December

  • Friday 19 December
    BACS run – payments will hit accounts Tuesday 23 December

  • Monday 22 December
    BACS run (in place of 23 December) – payments will hit accounts Wednesday 24 December
    This is the last payment run to hit accounts before Christmas.
    Where possible, files should be sent over by Friday 19 December.

No payment runs

  • Tuesday 23 December

  • Wednesday 24 December

  • Friday 26 December

Between Christmas and New Year

  • Monday 29 December
    BACS run (in place of 30 December) – payments will hit accounts Wednesday 31 December
    Where possible, files should be sent over by 24 December.

  • Tuesday 30 December – No payment run

  • Wednesday 31 December – No payment run

January payment run

  • Friday 2 January 2026
    BACS run – payments will hit accounts Tuesday 6 January
    Where possible, all files should be sent over by 31 December.

N.B any payments via a file upload can be dated in advance and sent over in advance of the payment runs if available.
