New ACT Awareness Training Now Available on iDev
Developed as part of the national Action Counters Terrorism (ACT) initiative, this e-learning course is designed to help public sector staff like us build awareness of potential security risks and adopt good practices to help counter terrorism.
As a public authority, we have a duty to be alert and informed. Our services and facilities are at the heart of local communities - making our staff some of the most valuable eyes and ears when it comes to recognising suspicious activity or vulnerabilities.
ACT is one of several training courses designed to support national efforts to prevent terrorism and keep communities safe. Alongside the recently launched PREVENT training, it forms part of the UK’s counter-terrorism strategy.
- ACT focuses on helping staff recognise and respond to security vulnerabilities and potential terrorist threats in public spaces or the workplace.
- PREVENT aims to safeguard individuals from being drawn into terrorism, by helping staff spot signs of radicalisation and provide appropriate support.
Both courses are valuable tools that support our shared responsibility to stay informed, alert, and confident in how to respond to different aspects of security and safeguarding.
